Leona Brown

Leona E. Brown, age 92, of Toledo, passed away Friday, January 6, 2006. She was born on May 18, 1913 to Benjamin and Elvira (Davis) Downs in Fort Acre, Ohio. She enjoyed sewing in her spare time and working for the Lord in church.

Leona is survived by her son: Gilbert (Yvette) Jones; granddaughter: Kennedi; step-granddaughter: Erica; step-grandchildren: Darnell, Cortez and Gabriel; nephews: Roland Price and Reynard Lewis; great nephew: Christopher Leach; and brother-in-law: Alexander Black.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Roland F. Brown and her siblings.

The family will receive guests on Tuesday, January 10, 2006 in the Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo (419-473-0300) from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Funeral Services will begin at 12:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park.
