Leon Mohr

Leon D. Mohr, age 86, of Toledo, Ohio passed away Monday, April 02, 2012 in the Ebeid Hospice Center. He was born May 16, 1925 in Hudson, Michigan to Leon and Irene (DeMeritt) Mohr. Leon served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He attended Whitmer High School and the Bowling Green State University. Leon owned and operated Mohr Hardware for 11 years and also Loyal Distributors a wholesale carpet sales company (before his retirement). He was an avid sportsman, who enjoyed golfing, hunting and fishing, and also loved to garden. A hardworker, Leon will be remembered for being driven and an excellent provider to his family. He was a member of Northpoint Church and the American Legion.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Mishie (Fredrick) Mohr; children, Ann (Jeff) Burnside, Carol (Jack) Vogelpohl, Bonnie (Mike) Clark, Darryl (Kelly) Mohr, Karen Jackson, Laynette (Craig) Baumgarner and Anthony (Vicki) Pritchett; 17 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. In addition to his parents and first wife, Mary (Alt) Mohr, Leon was preceded in death by his sister, Kathleen Hamann.

The family will receive guests Wednesday, April 4, 2012 from 3:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. in the Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 West Laskey Road, Toledo (419-473-0300). Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 5, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Toledo Memorial Park Cemetery.
