Leon Johnson, Jr.

Leon Johnson Jr. made his transition to be with the Lord February 14, 2022. He was born December 3, 1955 in Camden, Arkansas to Leon Johnson, Sr. and Katherine (Wright) Johnson. Later in 1971, Leon moved to Toledo, OH where he attended and played basketball at Scott High School from the year 1979 – 1985 he was married to Barbara King and to that union, Katearia (Johnson) Tribue was born. Shortly after he met Sharon Jackson into that union, Kyla Jackson and Leon Johnson, III was born. Jr.'s hobbies were playing dominos, horseshoes, bowling and shooting pool. He also enjoyed listening to Jazz. He also loved spending time with family and friends that included barbequing and making his famous omelets. Before his passing he received Christ and the Holy Ghost.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Katherine Johnson; father, Leon Johnson Sr.; son-in-law, Andre Tribue; nephew, Aaron Koonce; great-nephew and great niece, Kaleb and Kayla Johnson.

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving, fiancé, Cheryl Helm; his daughters, Katearia (Andre) Tribue, Kyla Jackson; son, Leon Johnson, III; grandchildren, Andrea, Tammy, Gabrielle, Andre Jr., Carter and A'Zorah; siblings, Betty Chambers, Deborah Johnson, Beverly (Randolph) Lear, Cynthia Koonce, Kerry (Kathy) Johnson and Shelia (James) Anderson; also a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

The family will receive guests Saturday, March 5, 2022 from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the Funeral Service at 2:00 p.m. at Newcomer Southwest Chapel, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo, OH 43614 (419-381-1900).
