Leoma Faith Stambaugh
March 22, 1933 — August 28, 2021
Leoma Faith Stambaugh, 88, of Toledo, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on August 28, 2021. Born March 22, 1933 the daughter of Lela and Orville Klinger. She married Von Stambaugh March 15, 1952, and together they raised Laura, Sandy, Julie and David. After the children were in school, she returned to school, to earn her LPN degree and then her RN degree. Caring for preemie babies in the NIC unit of Toledo Hospital and making life flights to transport them gave her great purpose.
Loving the Lord and serving others was her passion. She taught Sunday School, sang in the choir, was a powerful prayer warrior, and tutored children at Rose Parks School. She was a Bible Study Fellowship leader for many years and she went on mission trips with Von to Costa Rica and Nicaragua. She and Von were also privileged to visit both Israel and Turkey.
Faith was also talented in many ways. She sewed, crocheted, did ceramics, stamped and made beautiful cards she gave away. She was an avid reader, liked to garage sale and hike in Hocking Hills with her family. She was a great cook and was known for her pies, cookies and almond toffee that she generously gave away every Christmas.
For over 30 years, she looked forward to weekly "mother-daughter" day on Thursday mornings, (which included grandkids and great grandkids), to catch up on everyone's news. She had a great relationship with all her sons-in-law and daughter-in-law and loved to play euchre with them.
Faith is survived by her husband and best friend, Von; her daughters, Laura (Dan) Caywood, Sandra (Jim) Worley, Julia (Jim) Stokes; son, David (Carol) Stambaugh; 14 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; sister, Mitzi Dorfmeyer and brother, Stephen Klinger. She is also loved by many surviving nieces, nephews and friends and will be greatly missed.
Faith was preceded in death by her parents, Lela and Orville Klinger; sisters, Helen Prothero and Dorothy MacFarlane and brothers, John and Bruce Klinger.
A celebration of her life will be held at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 4207 West Laskey Road, Toledo, OH on Friday, September 10, 2021. Rev. Keith Sholl will be officiating the Memorial Service at 11:00 a.m. with visitation starting at 9:00 a.m.
