Leila S. McClusky

Leila S. McClusky, 65, of Perrysburg, Ohio passed away on Thursday, October 17, 2024 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, S. Detroit Avenue, Toledo, Ohio. She was born in Toledo, Ohio on July 7, 1959, to Nasif E. Dehabey and Florence (Hackim) Dehabey. She shared this birthday with her beloved Aunt and godmother, Gloria A. Hackim. 

Leila graduated from Woodward High School and immediately enrolled in the Toledo Academy of Beauty. After graduating, she became a nail tech and instructor for many years at the Glendale location, and touched the lives of many young people. Leila had an infectious smile and a happy heart. She could and would talk to anyone for hours about any subject. Leila was a wonderful baker and cake decorator, as well as a very good cook, and she loved to share the bounty with everyone. She loved her family, nieces, nephews and grandchildren, and was always proud of their accomplishments. She loved spending time with them and making things for them. Leila was always the first one to try and solve your problems. She loved all of the holidays and commented often, while in the hospital or a facility, that all she wanted to do was go home and put up her fall decorations and her Christmas lights. Every year from birth to the age of 11, she made Izzy's (great niece) Halloween costume. Leila was so creative and made many crafts over the years, some to share with others, some to sell at craft shows. Leila was a member of the Echo Meadows church of Christ. 

She is survived by her special friend, Jim Swartz, daughter, Cara (William) Manning, step-children, April (Timothy) Moore, Greg (Cheryl) McClusky, Rick McClusky, Pauline (Polly) McClusky and Mike Pegish; brother, Michael Dehabey; sisters, Hazel Dehabey Dewey (Boulder City, NV) and Georgiann Dehabey Monhollen; grandchildren, Heaven and MaKye Moore, Gregory and Caitlyn McCluskey; and great grandson, Kamari White. 

Leila was preceded in death by her husband, Peter McClusky. 

The family will receive friends at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 West Laskey Road, Toledo, Ohio 43623, on Friday, October 25, 2024 from 10:00 am - 1:00 pm, where a Funeral Service will immediately follow. Burial will take place privately at Lake Township Cemetery. 

Donations in Leila's memory can be given to Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
