Lawrence A. "Larry" Turner, age 73, resident of Toledo, Ohio, passed away on Monday, February 8, 2021, at St. Anne Mercy Hospital. He was born on March 13, 1947, to the late Harry and Leona (Miller) Turner.
After serving 6 years in the United States Marine Corps, Larry had worked at Johns Manville and enjoyed singing in the church choir at First United Methodist Church in Sylvania. A family oriented man, he enjoyed attending ball games to watch his kids and grandkids play. For numerous years, he coached little league football and baseball. Larry liked to hunt, fish, bowl, and go camping. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Those left to forever cherish his memory are his loving wife of 54 years, Gayle (Manrow) Turner, whom he married on January 22, 1967; three children, Pamela (Charles) Ankney, Andrea (Phillip) Christie, and Andrew (Jennifer) Turner; three grandchildren, Hannah, Christian, and Aubri; four step grandchildren, Kindra, Kelly, Keagan, Kaelyn; two great step grandchildren, Travis and Gracie; two sisters; numerous nieces and nephews; and his service dog, Chatta.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Dale Turner.
Family and friends may visit on Monday, February 15, 2021, from 3:00 pm – 7:00 pm, at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 West Laskey Road, Toledo, Ohio 43623. A graveside service and burial will take place at a later date. For the safety of the Turner family and their guests, masks are required along with social distancing.
