Lawrence Dean Proshek, age 70, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away on November 20, 2018 after a tough battle with cancer. Lawrence was born December 12, 1947 in Toledo to Harold and Mildred (Adams) Proshek.
He attended and graduated from Macomber-Whitney High School in 1965. Following high school he utilized his drafting skills, as well as, his love for creating and inventing, in the field of Mechanical & Electrical Drafting. During this 45 year professional journey he was very proud to have been a part of several inventions and the patents, such as the Charge Slot Air Shield Apparatus for a Rotary Hearth Furnace Patent. He enjoyed helping others with their financial goals and investments. During his retirement years he invested in properties to complete his dream of being a self-employed business man.
He met and married the love of his life Brenda and they shared 51 years together raising two children. Larry had a passion for playing pool, golf, and spending time with his kids, grandchildren, family and friends. He enjoyed entertaining everyone, he never knew a stranger.
In addition to his parents, Larry was also preceded in death by his Brother, Sidney Proshek; and Great-Granddaughter, Melody Ladd. He will be greatly missed by his Wife, Brenda Sue Proshek; Son, Dale (Cindy) Proshek; Daughter, Darling Wright; Siblings, Wesley (Diane) Proshek, Debbie (Bob) Haack, Rodney (Edee) Proshek, Martin (Brenda) Proshek, Clifford (Peggy) Proshek, and Leland (Lisa) Proshek; Uncles, Eugene (Betty) Proschek, and Ed (Margaret) Adams; Aunts, Ruthann (Denny) Griffith, and Wanda Lawrence; Grandchildren, Daryl (Theresa), Linsey (Andrew), Mackenzie (Jason), Roby, Andrew, Zachary, John, and Elizabeth; Great-Grandchildren, Andrea, Zachary, Declan, Zoey, Arielle, Jaxon, and Skyler; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The family will receive guests Friday, November 30, 2018 from 2:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Newcomer Northwest Chapel, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419) 473-0300. Funeral Services will begin Saturday at 12:00 pm. at the funeral home followed by a Graveside Service at Highland Memory Gardens in Waterville, Ohio.
