Lawrence "Jerry" Manrow, age 93, of Toledo, passed away on Tuesday, October 15, 2019 at Arbors at Sylvania. He was born on February 22, 1926 to Alva G. and Mary Lavina (Kemerer) Manrow in Corunna, Indiana. Jerry proudly served his country during WWII in the Merchant Marines where he was a Stewards Mate 2nd Class on the S.S. Emily Dickinson and was drafted into the U.S. Army shortly after his time with the Merchant Marines. He was a millwright and furnace tender at Libby Owens Ford for 31 years before retiring in 1977.
When he wasn't working or raising his family he could be found on the water, specifically Lake Erie where he loved to boat and fish. Jerry taught boating and navigational courses at Power Squadron and was even licensed lake freighter captain. In his spare time he enjoyed crossword puzzles and spending time with his family, especially the grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mary Ellen (Hartzog) Manrow and son, Lawrence "Jerry" Manrow, III.
At Jerry's request there will be no formal services.
