Lawrence H. Spalding

Lawrence H. Spalding, age 72, of Toledo, passed away Tuesday, July 8, 2008 at St. Anne Mercy Hospital. He was born September 4, 1935 to George and Mildred (Jasmine) Spalding in Toledo. Larry was employed with Jeep Chrysler for many years. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and treasured the time he spent with family. Although Larry retired from Jeep, he never stopped working. He enjoyed keeping busy with many projects and he took pride in what he did. Larry's life was filled with service for his Lord through the ministries of his church, Toledo Baptist Temple.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Herb Spalding and sister, Kate Davis. Larry is survived by his loving wife of almost 37 years of marriage, Donna J. (Link) Spalding; children, Audrey (William) Walker; Greg (Terry) Spalding; Laura (Bill) Thompson; Cindy (Mark) Langston; Kim (Bruce) Holtzman; Ken (Carmen) Spalding, Kevin (Tiffany) Spalding, John Baker and James (Diane) Baker; and brother, Ken (Belva) Spalding. Larry was also loved by many grandchildren, great grandchildren, extended family members and dear friends.

The family will receive guests Thursday from 2-8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin Friday at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Officiating will be Rev. Billy Bartlett. Interment to follow in Restlawn Memorial Park.
