Lawrence D. Swicegood, Jr.

Lawrence D. Swicegood, Jr., age 61, of Maumee, Ohio passed away July 19, 2014, surrounded by his loving family. He was born August 22, 1952 in Fort Campbell, Kentucky to Lawrence and Ida Mae "Lou" (Lewis) Swicegood. Larry was employed with Foodtown for 26 years and TARTA for more than 12 years. Larry was also proud co-owner of Swicegood Automotive with his son, Brad. He was a car enthusiast, his favorite being Olds 442. With his sons, Larry enjoyed working on, restoring and racing cars. Larry was an avid Ohio State Buckeye and Cincinnati Bengal fan. He enjoyed spending time at his home in Kentucky. What made Larry the happiest was spending time with his sons and grandchildren.

Larry is survived by his wife of 13 years, Stephanie A. (Villa) Swicegood; sons, Brad (Danielle) Swicegood and Chad (Meechelle) Swicegood; grandchildren, Cody, Dylan, Samantha, Dawson and Dakota Mae; mother-in-law, Carol Villa; Cheryl Swicegood; cousin "brother" Mark (Peg) Swicegood; uncle, Morris (Vonda) Lewis; great friend and "brother," Arnold (Elaine) White and dogs, "Zeus, Zelda and Ziva," many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Ralph Villa, Jr.

The family will receive guests Wednesday, July 23, 2014 from 2:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home - SW Chapel, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd. (419-381-1900). Funeral Services will begin Thursday, July 24, 2014 at 11:00 am. at the funeral home.
