LaVern A. LaGrange, age 86, of Toledo, passed away peacefully, Friday, November 4, 2011 at Ebeid Hospice Residence. He was born on September 12, 1925 to LaVern and Bertha (Munson) LaGrange in Sylvania. LaVern was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving our country in WWII earning the American Theater Ribbon and the Victory Medal. LaVern was employed with Sperling Heating and Air Conditioning for over 30 years until retiring. He was a member of the Sheet Metal Workers Local #33 for 55 years. LaVern belonged to the Irish Club and enjoyed square dancing. For many years he volunteered at the Food Closet at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Temperance, MI. LaVern will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 60 years, Violet "Ann" LaGrange; son-in-law, Alan Frank; 3 brothers; and 1 sister. LaVern is survived by his loving daughters, Carol (Richard) Moran and Diane Frank; grandchildren, Heather (Jim) Doll and Stephanie (John) Denney; great-grandchildren, Marcus and Corrinne Doll and Evan and Leah Denney; beloved dog, Shotzie; and numerous nieces and nephews.
There will be no visitation and services were private per LaVern's request. The Newcomer Funeral Home (419-473-0300) assisted the family with professional services.
