Laurie (Kimura) Crawford

Laurie (Kimura) Crawford, age 47, of Toledo, Ohio passed away on Saturday, March 5, in her home surrounded by her family. She was born on December 30, 1963, to Jack Kimura and Carolyn Peterson and was raised with two sisters and three brothers.

Laurie graduated from Whitmer High School in 1982. She was very active and had many interests including playing pool and softball for over 25 years; going to auto races; and playing golf in leagues and various outings. She was an avid Michigan Wolverines fan. She was also an assistant coach for her niece's softball team. Laurie participated in the Race for the Cure the past three years. She was employed at Guardian Industries as a customer service representative for the past five years. Laurie loved her job and the people she worked with.

She was a loving wife, mother and step-mother and was also a caretaker for others. Left to celebrate her life is her love of a lifetime, husband, Rick; loving son, Matt; stepsons Bailey and Keegan Crawford; mother, Carolyn Peterson; in-laws, William and Evelyn Crawford; sisters, Kim (Duane) Copeland and Jackie Kimura; brothers, Bill (Laurie), Jay (Andrea) and Donnie; three nephews and one niece; one uncle and three aunts; and many friends. She joins her father, Jack Kimura, who passed away nearly 20 years ago.

Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. on Friday, March 11, at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Road, Toledo, Ohio. Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 12, at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Historic Woodlawn Cemetery.
