Laurene T. Parker

November 12, 1952 — December 28, 2021

Laurene T. Parker, age 69, passed peacefully away on December 28, 2021 at 12:10 a.m. at her home in the comfort and loving arms of her husband Jerry Parker, surrounded by her children and other family members.

Laurene was a brilliant cook and loved interior design, combining her love for both into lavish holiday dinners for her family. Whether it was Palm Beach, Florida, Charleston, South Carolina or Las Vegas, Nevada. Laurene loved to vacation and enjoyed fine dining. Laurene cherished most spending quality time with her family, whether at home or away. She was overjoyed to witness the marriage of her son Vince to Taryn this November in her home. Her devotion as a wife, mother and grandmother are her greatest legacies.

Laurene loved her home, her family and the joys of decorating for the holidays. Her Halloween traditions will be forever cherished and remembered by all of us who mourn her loss and who will carry her forever in our hearts. She was wise, humorous, sometimes unflinching, but always true to herself. Jerry and her children loved her beyond any measure and were there with her every step of her courageous journey with a relentless cancer. She never complained at the numerous afflictions she endured, she only continued to bring love, guidance and care to those she loved. She was, is, and always will be, a loving presence in the minds and souls of her family. She will never be forgotten.

She leaves behind Jerry, her husband of 31 years, and her four children, Vincent (Taryn), Joshua (Michelle and her beloved grandson Weston, who will miss his "Mimi" dearly), Lauren and Michael (Eddrinia), sisters Sharon, Marlene and Suzanne, along with several nieces, nephews and life-long friends. She was preceded in death by her parents John and Clementine Clement.

The family wants to thank the tireless efforts of the Hickman Center, The Cleveland Clinic, the Michigan Ear Institute, Dr. Richard Phinney, Dr. Jeffrey Forquer and ProMedica Hospice in caring for and helping our Laurene during the last few years of her life.

A private family memorial will be held in memory of Laurene at St. Joseph's Church, Sylvania, Ohio.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in her name to the Hickman Cancer Center (https://giving.promedica.org/flower) or a cancer treatment organization of your choice.
