Laurel Ann Sarver, age 81, of Toledo, passed away Monday, July 2, 2007 in Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg. She was born March 6, 1926 to Norval and Rose Ann (Emch) Price in Toledo. Laurel worked at the former Toledo Scale, Rossford Ordinance and 20 years with Toledo Hospital. She was a volunteer for the Ronald McDonald House, the Red Cross, the Ability Center and Hospice of Northwest Ohio Bereavement Program. She was also a longtime member of Grace Lutheran Church.
In addition to her parents, Laurel was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Forrest; infant daughter, Beth Ann; brother-in-law, Donald Sarver and dear friend, Ruth Frutiger. She leaves to cherish her memory her daughters, Ellen Reddington of Toledo and Amy (Manuel) Rojo of AZ; son, Marshall (Debra) Sarver and beloved sister, Marian Sarver. Among Laurel's treasures were her grandchildren, Benjamin; Jennifer; Janelle; Ian; Alex; Angela; Oliver; Simon; Sam; Krystal and Matthew; foster son, Jimmy Perry and dear friend, Eloise Hovey; many nieces and nephews, especially Nancy and Gary and family who provided countless acts of kindness. Laurel will also be remembered as a "second mom" by Linda; Vicki; Phil; Cindy; Karen; Michelle and Terry.
The family will receive guests Friday from 2-8:00 p.m. in the Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300) and Saturday from 10-11:00 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church, 4441 Monroe St. Funeral Services will begin Saturday at 11:00 a.m. in Grace Lutheran Church. Officiating will be Rev. Ike Redfern. Interment will follow in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
