Larry W. Petteys, 74, passed away on Mother's Day, May 11, 2014. He was born on Mother's Day, May 14, 1939 to the late Marion and Dale Petteys in Toledo, Ohio.
Larry retired from Johns Manville where he worked in the Matting Dept. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Air Force and played the saxophone in the Air Force Band. Larry also worked for Missouri Pacific Railroad in St. Louis after serving his country. He enjoyed model railroads and trains and playing his electric organ.
Larry is survived by his wife, Pearl R. Petteys; daughter, Sherry Lee; son, Mark Allen and sisters, B.J. Anthony and Vickie (Bill) Halsey.
The family will receive guests on Larry's Birthday, Wednesday, May 14, 2014 from 10:00 a.m.-Noon at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo (419-381-1900). The Funeral Service will begin at Noon. Burial will take place at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to: The Alzheimer's Association, Northwest Ohio Chapter, 2500 N. Reynolds Rd., Toledo, OH 43615.
