Larry W. Keel

Larry W. Keel, age 65, of Toledo, Ohio died Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center. He was born January 2, 1948 in Toledo to Arthur and Wilma (Owens) Keel. Larry was a Whitmer High School graduate and received his Associates Degree from Owens Community College. Larry served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War. He was employed by Diocesan Publications for over 10 years, retiring in December 2012. Larry was a parishioner of Blessed Sacrament Church where he was active as a Eucharistic Minister, Usher and Lector. He was past Grand Knight and 3rd and 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus 3122 Council. Larry enjoyed auctions, playing cards, but the greatest love of his life was his family.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 47 years, Mary (Hoerig) Keel; children, Gary (Anne), Perry (Tracy) and Barry Keel; grandchildren, Austin, Jessica, Shelby, Devin, Haylee, Ryan and Lily Mae. In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by his sister, Nancy Patton.

The family will receive guests Tuesday, July 9, 2013 from 3:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. in the Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 West Laskey Road, Toledo (419-473-0300) where a Scripture Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will begin Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at 9:15 a.m. in the funeral home followed by the Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Church. The family requests memorial contributions to Blessed Sacrament Church.
