Larry Monroe "Bones" Krohn, age 73, a longtime resident of Holland and Toledo, Ohio, passed away Friday, August 19, 2022 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born May 16, 1949 in Toledo to the late Edward and Minnie Mae (Justice) Krohn. Larry grew up in Holland, Ohio and attended Waite High School. He was a Railroad Engineer and worked with Penn Central, Conrail and Norfolk Southern retiring after 40 years of service. Larry was a member of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and was active in many of the parades they participated in.

He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, whether it was celebrating special occasions, holidays or Sunday dinners. Larry's warm smile and great sense of humor brought smiles and laughter everywhere he was. He was quick to show kindness to others, giving freely of his time and attention. Larry was an avid builder, most recently rebuilding the deck at his house. He was a loving "Papa" to his grandchildren and great grandchildren, helping many of them who were excited to get their Driver's License the financial opportunity to attend driving school.

Larry married the love of his life Wonedia Baumgardner on August 30, 1970, and together they raised their growing family. He and Wonedia enjoyed many trips out west, visiting Las Vegas, Nevada as well as traveling east and south with destinations in Atlantic City and Mississippi. In their younger years they were active on several Mom & Pop Bowling Leagues at Interstate Lanes in Rossford. Larry was also known to enjoy a good game of Euchre at home with friends or Texas hold 'em at the local casino. Playing pool was another fun past-time.

In addition to his parents, Larry was also preceded in death by his son, Mark Krohn; twin brother, Gary Krohn and sisters, Nancy and Sandy. He is survived by his loving wife Wonedia (Baumgardner) Krohn with whom he would have celebrated 52 years of marriage later this month. Also left to cherish his memory are his sister, Judi Mercurio Hill of Tennessee; his children, Kelli (Scott) Sook, Larry (Lisa) Krohn, Tara Wade and Shawna (Micki) West; 14 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren; his best friend & cousin, Bill Cramer and several siblings and dear old friends.
