Larry Brown

October 1, 1954 — May 26, 2012

Larry Brown was born on October 1, 1954 in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Carlton Willis and Florence Brown-Kennedy, and departed this life May 26, 2012 surrounded by many whom he loved. Larry attended Cleveland East High School, Cuyahoga Community College and the University of Toledo which resulted in obtaining his L.I.C.D.C. licensure in the area of substance abuse, which became a part of his life ministry for the past 28 years. Larry was honorably discharged from the US Army in 1973. Larry moved to Toledo in 1982 where he met Sandra (Lemle) Brown and married on February 13, 2009.

Larry known to many as simply "LarryBrown" or Mr. Brown. Being a man of great passion, conviction who remained very consistant and outspoken in all matters close to his heart. Larry was privileged to work in the prisons with education and substance abuse, and truly loved what he was blessed to do.

Larry enjoyed many things including, fishing, horse racing, playing cards, traveling, but mostly Larry loved his family and referred to them as "angels from heaven."

Larry was preceded in death by his parents; eldest brother, Lennard Brown and niece, Andrea Brown. Left to cherish his memory his loving wife, Sandra (Lemle) Brown; son, G. Pecolis Caver his wife, Kimberly King-Caver; 5 siblings, Brenda (Roy) Brown-Vereen, Muzongo Kennedy, Karen Kennedy, Richeé (Mike) Kennedy-Cunningham and Gonna Kennedy; uncles and aunts, Lenward and Bernice Brown and Leonard and Carol Milliner; father-in-law, Bob Lemle and mother-in-law, Patricia Lemle; many in laws, nieces, nephews and cousins; special friends, Arnita Pitman and Tyrone Davis.

The family will receive guests Friday, June 1, 2012 from 2:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. in the Newcomer Funeral Home, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo, (419-381-1900). The family will also receive guests Saturday, June 2, 2012 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home.

A special heartfelt thank you to Hospice of Northwest Ohio and all who helped care for Larry that made his last days very comfortable.
