Lafaye Hoffmann

LaFaye "Mickie" Hoffmann, age 77, passed away peacefully on March 2, 2015. She was born on November 1, 1937 to the late Nina and Challie Ocy "Buddy" Simmons in Adel, Georgia. She attended Beulah Holiness Church there as a young girl.

Mickie was a very caring and compassionate woman who was a caregiver and mother to many. She was the past Manager of two Hallmark stores at Southwyck Mall. Mickie also volunteered at Reynolds Elementary School. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt and grandmother to her family. The last years of her life, Mickie most enjoyed helping to raise her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Mickie was preceded in death by her son, Timmy and brothers, Samuel "S.W." and Claude. Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband of almost 60 years, Ronald; children, Rodney and Angela (Michael) Calandra; siblings, Jacklon Latrelle Simmons and Carrie McGee; grandchildren, Adam and Hannah Calandra and Takota Hoffmann.

The family will receive guests from 2-8:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 5, 2015 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo (419-381-1900). The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, March 6, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. The burial will take place at Toledo Memorial Park.
