Lael Melburne Roberts, 75, recently of Toledo, died Friday, March 23, 2007.
Lael was born May 31, 1931 to Lael Wade and Ila Mae Roberts in Big Spring, Texas. He resided in various parts of Texas throughout his life. Lael earned a degree in Geology from Sul Ross State University in Alpine, TX and went on to become a Math and Science teacher with the Texas Public School System, retiring in 1986. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving his country in Korea and was honored with several awards, including the National Defense Service Ribbon, the United Nations Service Ribbon, the Korean Service Ribbon along with 2 stars and a Good Conduct Metal.
Lael is survived by his son, Randy (Connie) Roberts and 2 granddaughters, Elizabeth and Mary Roberts.
Private Graveside Services will be held Monday morning at Historic Woodlawn Cemetery. Officiating will be Larry Brown, pastor of Grace Family Fellowship.
The family would like to thank Odyssey HealthCare for the wonderful care and support they provided for Lael and his family.
