Kurt H. Granlund

Kurt H. Granlund, age 88, passed into the arms of Jesus on Sunday, December 23, 2018. He was born on September 11, 1930 to Karl Hugo and Martha Elizabeth Granlund in Esbo, Finland.
Kurt came to the United States in February of 1958 where he met Deloris Wille, his future wife in 1959. They married in December of that year. His first job was with Chase Bag and then worked several years for Abbott Labs as a warehouseman. He retired from Seaway Surgical, where he continued as a warehouseman, in 1995 at the age of 65. Kurt loved the outdoors and while in Finland participated in cross country skiing and ice skating. He enjoyed gardening and cutting lawns for whoever needed the help. Kurt was a member of Westgate Chapel for 49 years.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife Deloris of 59 years; sons, Kevin, Steven (Bonnie), Rolf (Angela) and grandchildren, Joshua, Justin, James and Jack. Preceding him in death is his father, mother and brothers, Rolf and Henrik.
The family will receive guests on Thursday, December 27, 2018 at Newcomer - Northwest Chapel, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. 43623 (419-473-0300) from 2-8:00 p.m. His Funeral Service will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 28, 2018 at Westgate Chapel, 2500 Wilford Dr., Toledo, OH 43615. The family will receive guests from 10:00 a.m. until time of service on Friday in the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to Westgate Chapel, N.W.O. Alzheimer's Association or to ProMedica Ebeid Hospice.
