Kristine Ann Harris

Kristine "Kristi" Ann Harris, age 51, of Toledo, passed away unexpectedly on October 12, 2020 at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center. Kristine was born October 21, 1968 in Toledo to Sylvester and Geneva (Lowry) Wcislak. She was a 1987 graduate of Sylvania Southview High School and went on to receive her Associates Degree in Medical Coding at Ross College.

Kristi was employed in various positions throughout the years at McDonalds, Burger King, Russell's Tuxedo, where she and the love of her life Mark met 27 years ago, Perrysburg Junior High cafeteria, Reynolds Clinic as a Medical Coder and lately in Logistics with Ryder-Powertrain. Kristi received her spiritual nourishment at Shelton Park Church of God in Temperance, Michigan.

Kristi was preceded in death by her parents and her canine companion, Earl. She is survived by her significant other of 27 years who she often referred to as her gift from God; Mark Harris; brothers, Patrick (Julie) Henry and Joe (Sherry) Wcislak; sister, Sandi (Paul) Wong; several nieces and nephews and her canine companion, Cosmo.

From birth, Kristi had a bold and loving spirit and found joy in the smallest adventure. As a child, her warm eyes, "fountain" of curly hair and mischievous smile drew people close. As she grew, the warmth behind those same features enticed them to seek her friendship. She often made light of chores by inventing fun games and could be seen with her white GE portable record player and stack of 45s inviting her siblings to play "Donnie & Marie" or "Name that Tune" while making masses of dishes or mountains of laundry pass quickly.

In her youth, she spent her summers with extended family at "the farm" in Michigan picking wild strawberries, blackberries and plums. She faced danger head on by chasing geese, sliding downhill on cardboard from old appliance boxes, playing on the jungle gym and poking around the barn where no one was allowed. Evenings were spent relaxing with family at the local swimming hole, "Fisherman's Paradise."

Kristi was kind and loving and considerate to all who were blessed to know her. She was an excellent cook and baker, known as the "Queen of Cupcakes" and her biscuits and gravy will be missed. Kristi enjoyed traveling in the fall to the West Virginia Mountains to observe the colors of nature.

In her quiet time, Kristi could be found doing Sudoku or watching her favorite television shows.

The family will receive guests Thursday, October 29, 2020 from 2:00-8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 West Laskey Road, Toledo (419) 473-0300. A Celebration of Her Life will be held Friday, October 30, 2020 beginning at 10:30am at the funeral home. Officiating will be Reverend Scott Isham, of Shelton Park Church of God. Burial will follow at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
