Her Story

Sunrise: March 16, 1963 - Sunset: March 15, 2020

Kimberly Ann Grinter "Kim" as she was affectionately called by her family and friends, was born on March 16, 1963 in Alliance, Ohio to the loving union of Claude and Donna Jean Grinter who both preceded her in death. Kim grew up in Toledo, Ohio where she received her education through the Toledo Public School system and graduated from Devilbiss High School. After High School Kim moved forward with her studies at Owens College and also took classes at the University of Ohio. Kim was employed at Buckeye Cable System where she retired from in 1998. Kim was employed with Aurora House as a House Manager when she departed from this world.

During Kim's lifetime she was blessed to know that real love is not selfish; she understood that love is about having the capacity to receive and give unconditionally. Kim's love was authentic, and pure; she was a loving daughter and caregiver to both her parents; a loving mother, sister, aunt, niece, cousin and friend. Her loving legacy has been passed on and it will continue to live on in the hearts and spirits of her two beloved daughters Ka'Tyra, Ka'Nyia and her brother/son Janeil… (As everyone knows, Kim really thought she was his 2nd mother.) She will be greatly missed by all who loved her. She genuinely treasured the relationships that she had with her neighbors and friends in fact she regarded them as family.

Kim had a heart of gold, a spirit of hospitality, she enjoyed cooking and she had a love of family and a way about herself that made everyone feel that they were her favorite and that they mattered. She was small and mighty; "quite bossy," a quiet storm and when it came to messing with her loved ones you definitely didn't want to get caught up in the eye of the storm's path. Kim was also the trusted "go to" person, you could always depend on her to get it done, no matter what the need was.

Kim had an adventuress spirit, she loved traveling and she never met a mall that she didn't like because shopping was another love of hers. She loved decorating her house and just having a good time; she enjoyed life

In 2012 committed her life to Christ and she was baptized at Indiana Avenue Missionary Baptist Church. Kim later joined the Walk the Word Missionary Church where she was a member until God called her to join His heavenly church On Sunday morning March 15, 2020.

Kim leaves to cherish her precious memories: two daughters Ka'Tyra Grinter (Samuel Reyna) and Ka'Nyia Grinter, son Whisper. Two Brothers Janeil Grinter (Delisha) and Nate Pollard (Cantrell) and her brother Rodney Williams (who preceded her in death.)
Honorary sisters: Denise Nelson, Corrine Skerrit, Cynthis Winston Aunts: Dorothy Grinter, Patricia Bailey, Carlis Stevens (Earl), Shirley Williams, Renae Williams. Uncle: Steve Grinter (Kanisha).

Cousins: Gevette Grimes-Love, Che Couch, Patricia Grinter, Mark Gay, Tammy Davis, Glynis Everett, Constance Williams, Trelana Allen, Danielle Thomas. Nieces and nephews: Ja'Coyia and Jamai Grinter, Johnathan Coleman and Terryn Grinter and a great niece A'ria Love. Godmother Earnestine Short and a host relatives and friends.
