Kent W. Snyder, 55, died on December 5, 2013, surrounded by family after a courageous fight with cancer. Kent was born July 6, 1958 in Toledo, Ohio to Kate (Schafer) and Dr. Frank Snyder. He graduated from Sylvania Northview High School in 1976 and attended the University of Toledo. Kent was employed as a millwright, working at Johns Manville for 27 years. He and his wife Kim (Phillips), raised their family in the house Kent built himself in Grand Rapids, Ohio. Kent was an avid Ohio State fan with Kim, sharing many fond memories together with family including the most recent Ohio State football win. Go Bucks!
Kent is preceded in death by his mother, Kate. In addition to his wife Kim, Kent is survived by his son, Kenneth (Heather); daughters, Tabitha Redman and Carmen (Jason) Kelly; 9 loving grandchildren; father, Dr. Frank (Pauletta) Snyder of Albuquerque, NM; brothers, Dr. Greg (Karen Wilk) Snyder of Manchester, MA and Scott (Kendra) Snyder; nieces, Aimee, Sarah and Jacqui Snyder, along with many other family members and close friends who will miss him dearly. The family wishes to thank the staff at Hospice of Northwest Ohio for their wonderful care and support.
The family will receive guests Sunday, December 8, 2013 from 2:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. in the Newcomer Funeral Home, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo (419-381-1900). A Sharing of Memories service will be held Sunday at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
