Kenneth L. Sumner

Kenneth L. "Ken" "Kenny" Sumner, of Holland, OH traded in his pain and suffering for his angel wings on April 23, 2022 at St. Anne's Hospital. He was born on December 31, 1962 to Clarence "Bud" Sumner and Laura Loveless. While attending Penta Career Center through Springfield High School, he became skilled at carpentry and after working at various jobs found the job he loved as a concrete driver. Ken worked for Stevenson's Bldg. & Supply Co. in Lambertville, MI, as well as William's Bros. Concrete and Diehlman Concrete.
On December 13, 1990, Ken met the love of his life, Gina Kulwicki and together they focused on raising their family. He was the life of every party. Ken enjoyed camping, liked riding his Harley, his loud Rock-n-Roll music, hanging out with friends and family by the fire or in his garage. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, which he proudly passed on to his sons. Ken made friends for life wherever he went. His smile, spirit and great sense of humor will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Ken will be deeply and forever missed by his loving wife, Gina (Kulwicki) Sumner; children, Todd (Amanda) Sumner, Travis Sumner, Samantha Sumner, and Casey Sumner; grandchildren, Lucas and Avery Sumner; parents, Howard and Laura Loveless and Clarence "Bud" Sumner; siblings, Linda (Russ) Guess, Lisa (Rich) Kirk, and Howard (Ruby) Loveless; nieces and nephews, Tracy (Chad) Huntebrinker, Amy Wheating, Corbin, Chase and Savannah Kirk; special cousin, Wayne (Tracy) Sumner; several aunts, uncles, cousins and many lifelong friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents and cousin, Troy Varble.
The family will receive guests on Saturday, April 30, 2022 from 2:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home – West Sylvania Chapel, 3655 King Rd., Toledo (419-392-9500) with Funeral Services beginning at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Dr. just call me "Mike" Retholtz, for his honesty and compassion given to Ken and our family throughout this difficult time.
