Kenneth Ray Snyder passed away on March 6, 2021 at the age of 97. Born on August 27, 1923, Ken was raised in Maumee, Ohio during the Great Depression. He proudly served in the United States Army during World War II defending the nation on Omaha Beach, Normandy on D-Day. After the war, he returned home to marry the love of his life, Evonne LeRoux. They resided in South Toledo.
Ken and Evonne enjoyed many adventures together and with their three children, Karen, Denise and Lyle. They traveled abroad, camped across the United States, snowmobiled in Michigan and wintered in Florida.
Ken worked at Toledo Scale, retiring when the plant closed. During his retirement, he was known to work on many home improvement projects, gardened and spent time with his family. Ken had a sharp mind, a keen wit and a wicked sense of humor. His family will miss but never forget the lessons they learned from him over the years.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his wife, Evonne on January 9, 2013, his father George, Sr., his mother Ethel (Boehk) Snyder, his brothers, George, Jr. and Bernard, his sister, Beatrice Briggs and son-in law, William Cain.
He is survived by his daughters, Karen Cain, Denise (Steven) Wolfe, his son, Lyle (Connie), brothers, Herb (Peggy) and Roger and sister, Phyllis Hoag. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Jeffery (Pam) Cain, Stacy (Shane) Eberle, Shawn (Dawn) Wolfe, Curt (Courtney) Wolfe, Melissa (Keenan) Dodson, Andrea (Brian) Bigelow and Jennifer (Andrew) Morris and 12 great grandchidren.
Services will be private. Interment will be at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park. Those who wish to contribute may select a charity of choice.
