Kenneth E. Nisch, age 72, of Toledo, Ohio passed away peacefully Tuesday, March 29th, 2022, after a long, hard fought and courageous battle with cancer. At the time of passing, he was visiting his daughter and family in Florida. Ken was born December 20, 1949, in Toledo, Ohio to Thomas and Mae Nisch.
For over 40 years, Kenny was an Operating Engineer at Atlas Paving, retiring at the age of 60. He celebrated 50 years with I.U.O.E, Local 18 in 2021. Kenny enjoyed traveling with his wife, fishing, woodworking and spending time with family and friends. One of his favorite pastimes was spent in "papa's workshop" either crafting furniture or just lounging. You can see countless furniture items crafted by Kenny in the homes of many of his family and friends.
Kenny is survived by his wife of 51 years, Kathy; son, Bryan (Heidi); daughter, Stacy (Shane) and two granddaughters, Lauren and Alyssa, who meant the world to him. He also enjoyed his five fur grandchildren. Kenny is also survived by his brothers, Terry (Rita) Nisch and Randall Nisch, as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brother, Fredd.
Kenny's wishes were to be cremated, which took place in Florida.
The family will receive guests Saturday, June 11 at Newcomer, NW Chapel, 4150 Laskey Rd. from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm. A Celebration of Life to remember Kenny will begin at 12:00 pm. Officiating, Chaplain Deirdre Manning.
Following the services, all are invited to a Luncheon at Forest View Lanes-Recreational Bar & Grill, at 2345 W Dean Rd, Temperance, MI 48182 beginning at 1:00 pm. Please make plans to come and continue to reminisce.
We want everyone to feel comfortable, so please wear your jeans, there's no need to dress up.
A time to tell stories or remember memories about Kenny are welcome to be shared by anyone in attendance at the end of the service Saturday.
Memorial Contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital in Kenny's memory.
