Kenneth Moore

Kenneth Moore, born on July 9, 1938, in Bad Axe, Michigan, passed away peacefully in Toledo, Ohio, on October 8, 2024, at the age of 86. A proud son of the American heartland, Ken was raised on an 80-acre farm, where he learned the values of hard work and dedication. the age of 18, he enlisted in the U.S Army, demonstrating his deep love for his country, and served honorably during his time which included a tour in Germany.

Upon his discharge, Ken settled in Fremont, Ohio, where he began his career taking a managerial position at K-Mart.  It was during this time that he crossed paths with Sandra L. Meyer while delivering daily sales advertisements to the Fremont News Messenger. Their connection blossomed into a beautiful relationship, culminating in their marriage on February 10, 1962. Together, they cultivated a loving home, celebrated significant milestones, and built a family filled with warmth and laughter. Later, his entrepreneurial spirit and business acumen served him well throughout his career as a self employed salesman.

Ken was known for his fun-loving nature, creativity, and a unique talent for building. He found joy in painting, drawing, and crafting with his hands, and he often shared moments of relaxation by the pool, savoring his favorite cigars in the company of family. His passion for airplanes reflected his adventurous spirit and lifelong curiosity about the world.

Throughout his life, Ken's commitment to his community was evident in his roles as a coach for softball and football at Christ the King Catholic School. His influence on the younger generations showcased his desire to uplift and mentor others. Ken's legacy continues through his beloved family: his devoted wife of 63 years, Sandra Moore; their son, Scott Moore, and his wife, Susan; their daughter, Michaela Mielcarek, and her husband, Mike; cherished grandchildren Joshua, Mitchell and his wife Rachel, Nicholas and his wife Jessica, Blake and his fiancée Veronica, along with ten great-grandchildren. He is further survived by three brothers, two sisters, and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

Ken was preceded in death by his son, Christopher Moore.

Visitation will be held on October 15, 2024, at St. Pius X Parish in Toledo, Ohio, starting at 9:00 AM, followed by a memorial service at 10:00 AM. Ken Moore will be remembered not only for his accomplishments and contributions but, most importantly, for the love he shared with those around him. His spirit will forever be cherished in the hearts of his family and friends.
