Kenneth "Ken" Lehmann, age 86, of Sylvania Township, passed away peacefully Sunday, June 5, 2022 at the Franciscan Care Center. He was born on December 16, 1935 to Martin and Betty Lehmann on the Eastside of Toledo. Ken graduated from Burnham High School in 1954 where he met the love of his life, Juanita Sloan and they just celebrated 66 years of marriage on June 2nd. He spent his career as a butcher and part owner of K&J House of Meats until retiring. He was a longtime member of St. Joseph Church, Sylvania. In his retirement years, he used to work at Our Lady of Lourdes Church's Soup Kitchen. Ken helped once a week prepare food for the weekly meal that was provided to the less fortunate. He really enjoyed the people that he worked with there and made many friends. Ken often enjoyed spending time at the lake property with friends and family. He liked camping and was an avid woodworker. Ken was a devoted family man and loved spending time with all of his grandchildren. He always greeted you with a warm smile, hug and a kiss. Ken's smile, spirit and caring nature will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Bonnie Lehmann; and granddaughter, Stephanie Doyle. Left to cherish Ken's memory are his loving wife of 66 wonderful years, Juanita Lehmann; children, Jeff (Lori Heintschel) Lehmann, Brian (Deborah) Lehmann and Tina (Andy) Harper; grandchildren, Jeffrey (Sara) Seiler, Erica (Corey) Adams, Shannon (Jimmy Cosgrove) Smith, Abby (Bobby) Singh, Christopher (Abi) Harper, and Jason (Bailey) Harper; many great-grandchildren; brother, Michael (Colleen) Lehmann; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
The family will receive guests on Sunday, June 12, 2022 from 2:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home – West Sylvania Chapel, 3655 King Rd., Toledo, OH 43617 (419-392-9500) with a Scripture Service at 6:30 p.m. in the funeral home. Funeral Mass will begin Monday, June 13, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Church, 5373 Main St., Sylvania, OH 43560. Entombment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery.
