Kenneth Anthony Gale

February 16, 1937 — December 27, 2020

Heaven gained another angel today. Kenneth Anthony Gale, 83 years young, passed away Sunday, December 27th, 2020 at Hospice in Toledo.

Ken was a Marine and served during the Korean War. In his early career he was employed at the family Fish Market on Door Street in Toledo. On a bet that he would not apply for a job with the Lucas County Sheriff's Department, Ken applied and clearly won the bet!

Kenny was employed with the Lucas County Sheriff's Department and moved through the ranks attaining Captain at one point over a span of 40 plus years. Throughout his career he had many security side jobs that included Kroger's on Manhattan Blvd, Foodtown on Reynolds Road and Toys R' Us on Monroe Street. One might have called Ken a "work-a-holic" as he put in many hours over many years.

After retiring, he pursued his passion in the Flea Market business which began at Stormin Normin's and lead him into a growing number of his own flea markets, one of which Rita Spencer helped him enormously with, the largest flea market of his, "Kenny G's" on Upton Ave.

Another passion of Ken's was the casino. When you weren't sure where to find him, one might have checked at the Hollywood Casino.

Ken loved getting together with his family, including his beloved dog Boomer. Kenny will be missed by all who knew him and Boomer will be lost without him.

Ken was preceded in death by his first wife, Marian E. Gale; sons, Kenneth Gale and Thomas Gale; brothers, Byron "Barney" Gale and William Gale and sister, Gloria Strasel.

He is survived by his loving wife, Connie Gale; son, Tony (Maureen) Gale; daughters, Cindy Forbes and Julie (Gary) Jagodzinski; stepchildren, Robert (Lisa) Hessler, Sandy (Kevin) Huebner; many grandchildren and even more great grandchildren who he loved.

Ken's grandson, Robbie was a huge help, often referring to each other as "My Dude".

He will truly be missed by each and every one of us. We will always smile when we remember a little song he sang and dance he danced, "One Monkey Don't Stop the Show". His passing may have stopped his song and dance however, his legacy will live on with all of us forever.
