Kenneth Floriana

Kenneth L. "Ken" Floriana, age 77 of Sylvania, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, November 23, 2010 at Flower Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was born October 15, 1933 to Alfred R. and Violet S. (Rutherford) Floriana in Oak Harbor, Ohio. Kenneth married Donna J. (Puls) Floriana on May 18, 1958 in Toledo and together they spent 52 ½ years. Ken graduated from Oak Harbor High School, Class of 1951 and proudly served in the U.S. Navy for four years. He worked as an industrial sales representative for Bostwick-Braun for 40 years. Ken was a long time member of Emmanuel Baptist Church where he was very involved in the food pantry and ushering. It was at Emmanuel Baptist Church where Ken was known as the "Candy Man" by many of the young children. He was also a supporter of Emmanuel Christian Schools sports teams and volunteering where he could. In his spare time he enjoyed cheering on his children and grandchildren at their sporting events.

Ken's family will remember him as a loving husband, father and grandfather who was an avid fisherman and hunter who loved the outdoors.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Donna; sons, Keith (Cammy) and Kevin (Kristi) Floriana; grandchildren, Jordan, Ashley, Kaley, Cassidy, Caden, Tyler and Ryan; great-granddaughter, Emma and siblings, Fred, Alfred, Jane, Ted, Ronnie, Bonnie, Doug and Bob. Preceding him in death are his parents and siblings, Marge, Dennis and Dick.

The family will receive guests Monday from 4-8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin Tuesday at Noon at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 4207 W. Laskey Rd. Interment will follow in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
