Kenneth "Kenny" Eitniear, age 91, of Toledo, passed away Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at the Toledo Hospital. He was born on December 2, 1921 to Andrew and Elva (Schultz) Eitniear in Toledo. Kenny was a truck driver for over 35 years, starting out delivering coal. He was a car enthusiast and liked to go fishing. Kenny was an avid gardner who grew everything from peanuts to potatoes. He was a NASCAR fan, especially of Dale Earnhardt, Sr. Kenny loved nothing more than the time spent with his family, especially all of his grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Toots, July 2011; and 6 siblings. Kenny is survived by his loving children, Jim (Billie Wolff) Eitniear, Sonja Eitniear, Judy (Herman) Hoerig, Roger (Rita) Eitniear and Joy (Rick) Yore; 12 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren and one on the way; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive guests on Friday from 2 – 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo (419-381-1900). Funeral Services will begin Saturday at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Toledo Memorial Park.
