Kay Ann King (Fell), 71, passed away on February 18, 2014. She was born on September 6, 1942 to the late Charles R. and Ethel R. (Wagner) Fell in Toledo, Ohio.
Kay graduated from DeVilbiss High School Class of '60. She attended University of Toledo and University of Arkansas Little Rock, graduating with a degree in Medical Technology. Upon returning to Toledo, Kay worked for local hospitals including Flower and Toledo Hospital. She eventually worked for a private practice doctor running a small lab for 30 years. After the doctor retired she worked at Toledo Hospital for the ER doctors of Northwest Ohio for about 10 years before retiring.
Kay met Paul King in 1965 at the Toledo Tip Toppers Club (Tall Club), where they were both active members. They married September 30, 1967 at St. Pius X in Toledo, Ohio.
Kay's hobbies included gardening, sewing, and she cherished her time with her high school classmates with monthly get-togethers. Most important to her was spending time with her family, especially on holidays.
Kay's family would like to thank the congregation and ministers of St. Michael's, where she participated on the Vestry and various committees.
In addition to her parents, Kay was preceded in death by her sister-in-law, Carolyn Curtis. Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband of 46 years, Paul; sister, Sandy (Alan) Koester; brothers-in-law, Michael (Linda) King and Lee Curtis; sisters-in-law, Barb (Paul) Smith and Cathy (Jerry) Ehlert; 16 nieces and nephews and their children.
The family will receive guests from 4-8:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 23, 2014 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo (419-381-1900). The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday at St. Michael's in the Hills, 4718 Brittany Rd. Friends and family may meet at the funeral home at 10:00 a.m. and then process to the church. There will be a private family burial following church services.
The family would like to thank Dr. Tim Kasunic, Cindy Sutton N.P. and all Hickman Cancer Center Staff, Lutheran Village at Wolf Creek and Hospice of Northwest Ohio for their compassion and care.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to: Maumee Valley Save-a-Pet, St. Michael's in the Hills or a charity of the donor's choice.
