Kathy E. Rich

Kathy E. Rich, age 63, of Toledo, passed away Sunday, November 10, 2013 at St. Anne's Mercy Hospital. She was born on August 1, 1950 to Lowell Sr. and Ruth (Shasteen) Van Etten in Toledo. Kathy was a 1968 graduate of Whitmer High School. She was a longtime member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and the Red Hat Society. Kathy loved nothing more than the time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Kathy is survived by her loving husband of 30 years, Bruce Rich; parents, Lowell Sr. and Ruth Van Etten; children, Roberta (Blachowski) Acosta, Douglas (Holly) Blachowski and Anne (Blachowski) Turner; grandchildren, Noah, Austin, Andrew, Ashlee, Caitlin, Ricky and Breanna; one great-grandson Aiden on the way; brother, Lowell Jr. "Red" (Myong Hui) Van Etten; sister, Barbara (Charles) Andrychowicz; and many other family members and dear friends.

The family will receive guests on Thursday from 2 – 7:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
