Kathryn "Pete" Ratajczak passed away September 11, 2017.
She was born to Alexander H. and Kathryn M. Oswald on October 3, 1940 in Toledo, Ohio. She married her husband, Raymond Ratajczak Sr. in 1961 and together they raised five children. Kathryn enjoyed listening to Elvis Presley and Country Music. She loved hosting family gatherings and celebrating holidays. Pete as she was called by many, loved to travel. She went to Germany, Panama, and numerous places in the United States to visit her children and grandchildren.
Pete was a friendly and easygoing person, she never met a stranger. She loved to knitted hats, gloves, made doilies and quilts. The scariest moment in her life was in Panama when she was stuck in an elevator for about two hours with her husband and son Willie. Later on, we laugh and make fun of it. They survived with a watermelon and ice cream cones.
Pete was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, brothers, Alexander "Butch" and Roy; sisters, Wilma and Sue; and daughter-in-law, Cindy.
Left to cherish Pete's memory is her loving husband, of 56 years, Raymond Ratajczak Sr.; sons, Raymond (Sanya), Michael, Richard (Brenda), John, and William (Sue) Ratajczak; grandchildren, Kara, Mandy, Jorge, Danny, Chelsea, David, Anthony, Sierra, and Maryann; great-grandson Liam; sister, Marie Hamilton; nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
The family will be receiving guests Monday, September 18, 2017 from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo (419 381 1900).
The family would like to extend a special thank you to The Manor at Perrysburg and their staff for their support and compassionate care.
