Kathleen Smith

Kathleen "Kathy" Smith, age 69, of Toledo, passed away Monday, March 3, 2014 at Heartland Holly Glen. She was born on June 16, 1944 to Vincent and Delphine (Kaczala) Foetisch in Chicago, Illinois. Kathy loved the outdoors; camping and swimming. She was always involved in her children's school activities and sporting events. Kathy loved nothing more than spending time with her family especially her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, best friend and soul mate of 50 years, Douglas Smith on January 28, 2014. Kathleen is survived by her loving children, Dawn (Michael), Jay (Rebecca), Jim (Kim) and Doug (Jocelyn) Smith; grandchildren, Joshua, Nicholas (Mickey), Erika, Ashley, Alek, Abram, Addison, Ayden, Samantha, Brandon, Madison, Isabella, Dorian and Maisy; great-grandson, Connor; brothers, Vince (Ginny) and Bruce Foetisch; dear friend and "sister," Dee Drollinger; and many other family members and dear friends.

The family will receive guests on Saturday from 12:00 – 5:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin Saturday at 5:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
