Kathleen Miller

Kathleen "Kay" Miller, age 93, of Toledo, passed away on June 13, 2018 at Kingston Residence in Sylvania, surrounded by family. She was born January 27, 1925 on the family farm in Lincoln, Mich. to parents Thomas and Susan (Mahalak) Rice. While growing up in Michigan, Kay spent her summers at the Lost Lake Woods Club, where she worked with her mother. She was also a graduate of Oscoda High School.

On May 8, 1948, Kay married her husband of 52 years, Donald W. Miller. She devoted her life to raising their three sons, Thomas, Robert (Carol), and Jeffrey (Mary) Miller. Even more, she was whole-heartedly dedicated to her grandchildren, spending time with them, and supporting their activities and school functions. Most recently, she enjoyed sharing stories and catching up on their new adventures from around the country.

Left to cherish her memory are her three sons; grandchildren, Sarah, Joseph, Jacob, Emma and Reed; and great-grandchildren, Alexander, Jackson, Alivia and Norah. In addition to her parents, Kay is preceded in death by her husband, Don and brothers, Kenneth and Harry Rice.

The family will receive guests on Monday, June 18, 2018 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home – West Sylvania Chapel, 3655 King Rd, Toledo, Ohio 43617. The service will also take place at the funeral home on Tuesday at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow in Toledo Memorial Park.
