Kathleen Marie DeLong (Duncan), age 69, peacefully departed from her earthly body to be with Jesus on the morning of Saturday, April 5, 2025, after a courageous 10-year battle with kidney disease. Kathy was in the comfort of home with her daughters and childhood soulmate during her final days. She received many meaningful visits and positive affirmations from family and friends who have known and loved her.

Born on December 11, 1955, in Toledo, Ohio, Kathy spent her formative years in Temperance, Michigan, where she cultivated a love for animals, family, friends, and life. Kathy's early years were filled with adventure and mischief alongside her neighbor and lifelong friend, Elaine. Kathy attended St. Anthony School and later graduated from Bedford High School in 1974. With a passion for helping others, she pursued an associate degree to become a Radiologic (X-ray) Technician, dedicating over 40 years of her life to Promedica. Kathy loved her career, making lasting friendships and sharing laughter and memories before retiring in 2020.

The heart of Kathy's life was her family. She was a devoted mother to her daughters and son-in-law and a treasured grandmother to her two grandsons. Kathy's nurturing spirit extended beyond her immediate family; she was a beloved

Girl Scout Leader, a dedicated volunteer at Regina Coeli, and a second mom to many of her daughters' friends, making lasting relationships with their families. Her home was a sanctuary of love, where she filled holiday celebrations and family gatherings with warmth and laughter and her famous hospitality.

Kathy's zest for life was evident in her many passions. She loved spending time with her daughters and grandsons, taking them to amusement and water parks, the beach and lake, enjoying the great outdoors at local Metroparks, or playing games. Kathy was a regular at her grandsons' sporting events, and monthly Bunco nights brought joy to her circle of friends. Kathy's summer pool parties were legendary; her infectious laugh and radiant smile could light up even the darkest rooms.

Described by family, friends, and co-workers as the sweetest and kindest soul, Kathy was the life of every gathering. Her great sense of humor and ability to make others laugh made her a true gem in the lives of those who knew her. She poured her heart and soul into everything she did, leaving a lasting impact on everyone fortunate enough to cross her path.

Kathy is survived by her adoring daughters, Elizabeth Duncan, Andrea (David) Thomas, and Michelle Duncan; her children's father, Brian Duncan; her cherished grandsons, Aiden and Alex; and countless other dear relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary and Donald Seguin; her husband, Jim DeLong; her son-in-law, Roger Pleasant; and her special friend, Marsha Creutz.

Kathy's visitation will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 West Laskey Road, Toledo. A Funeral Service will immediately follow visitation and begin promptly at 6:00 p.m. A "celebration of life" for family and friends will be held on the 4th of July in typical Kathy pool party fashion, honoring the vibrant spirit of a remarkable woman who touched so many lives.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Kathy's memory to the Humane Society or ASPCA, reflecting her generous heart and commitment to helping animals in need. Kathy will be deeply missed but forever remembered for her love, laughter, and the countless lives she enriched.
