Katherine Moore

Katherine "Kit" Moore, 74, of Sylvania, Ohio passed away surrounded by her loving family on July 6, 2022. She graduated from Finney High School in Detroit, then went on to get her undergraduate from Michigan State University, and later obtained a master's degree from the University of Toledo. Kit cherished her annual get-togethers with her MSU roommates. She retired from Sylvan Elementary School but continued to enjoy time with her colleagues in their Sylvan Retiree Group. Kit was a longtime member and active parishioner of Olivet Lutheran Church. Her children and grandchildren were her joy, and she loved spending time with them.

Kit was preceded in death by her parents, Phyllis and Ruben Spomer. She leaves behind her loving husband of 52 years, Mike Moore; children, Lisa (Cory) McKenzie and Chris (Carrie) Moore; grandchildren, Sophia, Nick, Mavrick, Sydney, Emily, Christian (Amber), Savannah, and Grace; and sister-in-law, Laura Moore.

Friends and family are welcome to gather at Olivet Lutheran Church, 5840 Monroe St, Sylvania, on Saturday, August 6, 2022 from 10:00am to 11:00am, where a memorial service will immediately follow at 11:00am. Those wishing to make a donation in Kit's memory are asked to consider Olivet Lutheran Church or the Northern Ohio Chapter of the ALS Association. The Newcomer Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
