Karl K. Sorge, age 79 of Toledo, passed away on Saturday, October 6, 2012 at St. Anne Mercy Hospital. He was born February 1, 1933 to Edward and Lillian (Meissner) Sorge in Toledo. Karl married Mary Blanche (Kimling) Sorge on September 1, 1956 and she preceded in him on death on August 20, 1984. He was a graduate of Woodward High School, Class of 1951. Karl proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict, where he was stationed in Germany. Karl was a talented athlete when he was younger and in his later years was an avid golfer and bowler.
Left to cherish his memory are his two sons, Joseph (Rose) Sorge and Chris (Charlotte) Sorge; grandchildren, Robin (Chad) Kiefer, Samantha, Angelina, Jennifer (Bryan) Riggs, Sabrina, Dale and Demel; 9 great-grandchildren and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mary Blanche; brothers, Norman, Robert, Arthur, Donald, George; sister, Ruth and special companion, Sally Morris.
The family will receive guests on Friday from 2:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin in the funeral home on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Toledo Memorial Park.
