Karl H. Seifert, age 87, of Toledo, passed away Sunday, July 28, 2013 in his home. He was born on February 2, 1926 to Henry and Geraldine (Cousino) Seifert in Toledo. Karl was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving his country proudly in WWII and the Korean Conflict. He was in the 7th Infantry and also received a purple heart in WWII. Karl was a longtime member of the Robinson Locke Masonic Lodge #659 and the O-Ton-Ta-La Grotto M.O.V.P.E.R, being a past monarch. He was an avid bowler, fisherman, and hunter and also enjoyed playing cards. Karl loved nothing more than the time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Thekla Seifert and second wife, Vereen Seifert; sister, Katherine Alcock and nephew, Mike Alcock. Karl is survived by his loving children, Robert (Tracy) and Roland (Alice) Seifert; grandchildren, Justin (Katie), Cierra and Stacey (Matt); great-granddaughter, Madison; niece, Cathy Jo; and many other relatives and dear friends.
The family will receive guests on Friday from 3 – 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin Saturday at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home. Inurnment will take place at a later date in Toledo Memorial Park.
