Karen A. Sulewski, age 61, of Toledo, passed away on Wednesday, July 3, 2019 at home with her loving family by her side. She was born on December 14, 1957 to Eugene and Jane (Martin) Sulewski in Toledo. Karen was a 1975 graduate of Woodward High School and previously worked for the offices of Dr. Storey and Dr. Kaji. Karen was an avid bowler and an amazing cook. With her outgoing personality she never met a stranger and was willing to help anyone in need. Above everything, her family was her pride and joy and she always put their needs before her own. Karen was devoted to her family and friends and will be remembered as a loving and supportive wife, mom, grandma, daughter, niece and dear friend. To know her was to love her.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Richard "Rick" Vargas; mother, Jane Sulewski; daughters, Angela Baker (Jay Isom), Karen Vargas and Nicole Vargas (Aaron Clay); grandchildren, Kayla (A.J.), Jason (Brittany), Hannah, Nathen, Aubrey and Nora; siblings, John (Jan) Sulewski, William (Nancy) Sulewski, Jeanie Sulewski and Robert (Laurie) Sulewski; father and mother in law, Ray (Blaise) Vargas; best friend, Conni Urbanski-Brown and bonus daughter, Stacey Reyna and her children, Cieara and Selina. She was preceded in death by her father; sons in law, Phillip Nagle and Michael Baker.
The family will receive guests on Sunday, July 7, 2019 from 2-8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home - Northwest Chapel, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300) with her Funeral Service starting Monday at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Erie, MI.
