Karen Reynolds

Karen Reynolds entered her eternal rest on September 24, 2024, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Toledo, Ohio. Karen was born November 20, 1949. She was preceded in death by her parents Ottabee Simms and Harold David Quinn Sr of Toledo, Ohio. In Karen’s early years she attended St Ann Parish and later professed her faith in Christ again and was baptized at Family Baptist Church and later attended Family Church Without Walls. 

Karen attended Monroe Elementary School, Robinson Jr. High, and Scott High School where she played the Saxophone and flute in the Scott High School Band. She later attended Central Catholic High School and graduated from Woodward High School in 1967. 

Karen continued her education and graduated from Stautzenberger Business School in 1968 and the University of Toledo earning a Bachelor Degree of Education in Elementary Education in 1972. She taught in Toledo Public Schools and at Bible Way School where she also was an Administrative Assistant. In her expression of faith Karen also received a Bible School Diploma from the Ohio Diocese School of Biblical Theology, Inc.

Karen married Fred Reynolds. To this union was born Sean Reynolds. During her married years Karen worked at Surface Combustion in Toledo, Ohio and Proctor and Gamble in Cincinnati. Karen was an attentive mother to Sean and enjoyed family time. Karen’s past-time was attending many organizations activities with her mother, Delta Sigma Theta, Art Tatum African American Center, and Church Women United just to name a few.

Karen leaves to cherish her memory son Sean Reynolds of Toledo, OH, sister Kathy Kirby and brother Harold David Quinn, Jr. of Toledo, OH and brother Anthony Quinn of Phoenix, AZ and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Family and friends may gather at Newcomer Funeral Home, Northwest Chapel, 4150 Laskey Rd, Toledo, OH 43614, on Friday, October 4, 2024, from 10:00 am until the time of services at 12:30 pm. Following the service, Karen will be laid to rest at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
