June J. Lewis

June J. Lewis, age 89, of Toledo, passed away peacefully Thursday, July 9, 2009 at the Ebeid Hospice Residence, Sylvania. She was born May 12, 1920 to Herbert and Julia Barkoot in Toledo. June was employed at JCPenney as a buyer in the infants department for 15 years. She enjoyed boating with her husband and her family. June loved nothing more than spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Lewis. June is survived by her daughter, Barbara (Tony) Dible; son, Charlie Lewis; grandchildren, Christin, Josh, Ashley, Tyler and Paige; great-grandchildren, Destiny, Jordan and Elijah; and brother, Michael Barkoot Sr.

The family will receive guests on Tuesday from 2 – 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Toledo Memorial Park.
