June A. Holub, age 89, of Toledo, passed away Friday, April 8, 2011 at Lutheran Village at Wolf Creek. She was born on November 17, 1921 to Otto and Louise (Kuhr) Piotraschke in Toledo. June worked as a seamstress at the former B.R. Bakers in downtown Toledo and then retired from Washington Local Schools. She was a longtime member of Reformation Lutheran Church and the Toledo Chapter, Grandmothers Club. June was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Pearl Harbor Surivors Association, Chapter 3 and loved playing Bunco, which she had done for 63 years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Ruth Striggow, Esther Sass, and her twin Jane Monk, and brothers, Ralph and Richard Piotraschke. June is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Clarence Holub; daughter, Linda (Jerry) Sheckler; son, Keith (Lori) Holub; grandchildren, Brian, Jeff, Joseph, John; 4 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
The family will receive guests on Thursday from 2 – 4:00 & 6 – 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin Friday at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
