In loving memory of Julianne Klosowski (May 17, 1934– February 18, 2023)
First and foremost, Julie was a devoted, fervent follower of Jesus. Her connection to Jesus and God was so pure and gave her such strength. Her faith showed in everything she did, from unwavering dedication to the church, to the books she read, to how she decorated her home (hundreds of angels look over the household from every nook and cranny).
Julie was smart, clever, witty, and so, so funny. Maybe in another time and place, she might have been a comedian. People didn't always get her jokes because she was very much the smartest person in the room. Sometimes it took a little while to realize she'd said something so funny that you missed it because it took a while for your brain to catch up.
Julie had a funny way of teasing you that made you feel honored, like she loved you enough to make fun of you. Even though she poked fun, you could always tell it came from a loving heart. An "Oh, brother!" and an eyeroll were like a hug.
She was incredibly charming, even to total strangers. She'd notice and admire something in the way someone did or said something, and would say it to them, this person she didn't even know, and they would just melt that she noticed some small wonderfulness about themselves that even they didn't recognize.
Her hobbies were sewing, travel (for which she has souvenirs from every place she ever visited), and collecting angel figurines of every shape, size, and culture. She was a real go-getter. In her downtime, she loved doing crossword puzzles, word search, and watching game shows.
She had many roles in her life. For the first seven years of her life, she was the princess, the precious only grandchild who everyone doted on. Then, as her brothers and sister came along, she took on the role of wise big sister. In her adult years, she became a loving wife, a basketball coach at St. Adalbert's (1960s & 70s) and worked as a vision tester for Toledo Public Schools, bookkeeper (The Blade), an office manager, and best of all, a loving, caring wife and mom, and loving grandmother.
Julie is survived by her loving husband, Frank Klosowski, three children, Mary Kay Mierzwiak (John), Tom Klosowski (Ann), and Ted Klosowski (Sherryl), six grandchildren, Eric (Holly) and Angela Mierzwiak, and Thorin (Carly), Jeremy, Ryan and Troy Klosowski, and two adorable great-grandchildren, Blake and Colton Mierzwiak; brothers, Edward and Leonard Mieczkowski and sister Patt Reape (deceased)
Julie passed peacefully in the hospital on February 18, 2023 surrounded by her loving family. Everyone was crying, including the nurses, because there was so much love in the room.
Visitation and services will be private.
