Julian J. Rodriguez, Jr.

Julian J. "J.R." Rodriguez, Jr., age 71, of Toledo, went to reunite with his bride, Lina on Thursday, March 12, 2015 at Arbors of Oregon. He was born on June 5, 1943 to Julian J. and Elvira (Cortez) Rodriguez, Sr. in Toledo. J.R. worked as a forklift driver at Libbey Glass for 30 years before retiring. He loved playing the lotto, cards, fishing and being with his entire family. J.R. enjoyed family get-togethers and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Adeline "Lina" Rodriguez; brothers, Peter, Alexander and John Rodriguez; granddaughter, Delores "Lola" Ramirez; and nephews, Robert "Bobby" Vargas and David Vargas, Jr. J.R. is survived by his loving children, Diane Ramirez, Sylvia (Robert) Lewis, Julian (Heather) Rodriguez, III and Paul D. Rodriguez; 6 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; siblings, Blaise (Raymond) Vargas, Sr. and Paul (Alice) Rodriguez, Sr.; sisters-in-law, Aurora Rodriguez, Karen Rodriguez and Marlene Rodriguez; uncles, Louis Pantoja, Sr. and Jesse Cortez; and many other family members and dear friends.

The family will receive guests on Tuesday from 2 – 7:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo (419-473-0300) with Funeral Services beginning at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
