Julia Mae (Thompson) Brown was born on May 23, 1943 in Excelsior, West Virginia, to Leonard and Queen (Threatte) Thompson. She was educated in the Detroit public school system, graduating from North Eastern High School in 1961. Judy was a member of UAW Local 1435, working at the Chrysler Toledo Machining Plant for over 36 years, retiring in2001. Since retiring, Judy became a much more active member of Macedonia Baptist Church where she was a member for many, many years, and was also a docent for the Toledo Museum of Art. Her greatest joy was devoting her time, energy and love to her only grandchild.
Judy lost her hard fought battle with cancer on February 12, 2015. She was preceded in death by her father, Leonard Thompson, Sr. Judy leaves to cherish her memory, her mother, Queen Elizabeth Thompson; son, John Reginald Thompson; daughter, MiChelle (Mike) Van-Nessa Brown-Fortress; granddaughter, BrookLynn Renee Fortress; brothers, Leonard Jr., Gerry and Curtis; sisters, Linda, Shirley, Elizabeth and Mary and a host of nieces, nephews and special "son's" and "daughter's."
A Memorial and Celebration of her Life will be held at Macedonia Baptist Church, 1501 South Cove Blvd, Toledo, OH 43606 on Friday, February 20, 2015 from Noon – 3:00 p.m.
