Judy E. (Johnson) Tunison

Judy E. (Johnson) Tunison passed away June 11, 2024 at Divine Memory Care at the age of 85. She was born April 8, 1939 to Clyde and Ida Johnson. Judy was a 1957 graduate of Libbey High School. She attended the University of Cincinnati Nursing School then graduated from Maumee Valley Nursing in 1961. Judy worked and retired from St. Luke’s Hospital. After retirement, Judy volunteered at St. Luke’s and Dr. Daboul’s office.

She loved her nursing days especially taking care of everyone. Judy was the most selfless person you would ever have known. She always worried about everyone else but her self. Judy loved her family, especially her grandchildren.

Judy married Jim Tunison in 1959 who preceded her in death along with her parents; sister, Joan McCarthy; brother, Chuck Johnson and son-in-law, Harold Fowler.

She is survived by her daughters, Tami Fowler, Beth (Chris) Guertin, Traci (John) Wolfe and son, Todd Tunison; grandchildren, Randy (Jill) and Shane (Karly) Fowler, Scott and Justin Elliott, Britney (Sawyer) McCraw, Jamie and Jacob Williams, Nick (Maddie) LaPorta, Jessica (Sean) McMahon, Sammie (Mark) Tunison and Jeremy Tunison; 13 great grandchildren; and soon to be 3 great, great grandchildren and 4 step great grandchildren; many cousins and nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank Divine Memory Care and Careline Hospice for their care of Judy.

The family will receive guests Saturday, June 15, 2024 from 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. at Newcomer SW Chapel, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo (419-381-1900). Memorial services will be held at 5:00 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Careline Hospice or Mercy College of Nursing in Judy’s memory.
