It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Judith Ann (Funk) Kraus (Toledo, Ohio), born on October 13, 1940 in Kokomo, Indiana. She passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on November 10, 2021, at the age of 81.
Judy was an avid doll collector, particularly Barbie, most of her life and belonged to the Buckeye State Doll Study Club for many years. She went to many schools in different cities through her youth but graduated from Libbey High School as the Salutatorian of the Class of 1958.
She also enjoyed reading, dancing, sewing, and gathering with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband of 61 years, James; step-daughter, Cheryl (Mitchell) Lay; son, Allen; and daughter, Jennifer. Her grandchildren, Megan and Kevin Lay, Jessica Jaworski, Sara (David) Shutters, and James R. Kraus.; and great grandchildren, Blake and Bailey Jaworski and Nash, Dakota, Oakley and Forrester Shutters, who was born 4 hours after Judy passed on 11/10/21.
The family will hold a private service.
In lieu of flowers, she would have been honored to have donations made in her name to Ohio Living Hospice or any animal shelter or cat rescue.
A very special thank you to Ohio Living Hospice and her loving caregivers from Guardian Angels who made it possible for the family to keep her at home through her final days.
